Left Something at a Vietnamese Airport: Who to Call
⚡ Quick Answer
Left it on the aircraft → the airline. Left it in the terminal → immigration holds it, not an airport lost-property desk. And storage is charged by time, so speed is money.
| Where | Who has it |
|---|---|
| On the aircraft | The airline or its ground handler |
| In the terminal | Immigration |
| Taken at security screening | Nobody — not recoverable |
⚠️ The middle row surprises everyone. Items left in the terminal are held by immigration rather than an airport lost-property office, so travellers spend days contacting the wrong department while the storage fee accrues.
✅ Have ready: flight number, date, seat or area, a description specific enough to tell your black cable from four hundred others, and a serial number if you have one.
If you know anyone still in Vietnam, ask them. Someone who can phone in Vietnamese and turn up in person is worth more than a dozen emails from abroad — and they stop the clock sooner.

No. Storage is charged over the holding period. On a cheap item, a long delay can cost more to resolve than the item is worth — which is the real reason to move fast.
Can they post it to me abroad?
We cannot verify a standard international forwarding process, so we will not describe one. Having someone in Vietnam collect it and send it on is the route travellers report using.
How long do they keep it?
We could not confirm a maximum holding period and will not guess. Treat it as a clock you cannot see.
As of 14 September 2026. Storage fee schedules and holding periods are not stated here because we could not verify published figures.
