Can I Reuse My Old Vietnam E-Visa?
⚡ Quick Answer
Only if it is a multiple entry visa and still inside its validity. A single entry e-visa is spent the moment you use it, however many days were left.
| Your visa | Can you come back on it? |
|---|---|
| Single entry ($25) | ❌ No — used once, finished |
| Multiple entry ($50) | ✅ Yes, while still valid |
⚠️ Validity runs from the issue date, not from your first entry. A 90-day visa issued in March is finished in June whether you used it in April or never used it at all. What is left is calendar time, not unused days.
So the question is not “how many days did I use”. It is “what does the expiry date on the visa say” — and whether it says single or multiple entry. Both are printed on it.
✅ Coming back more than once in 90 days? Pay the $50. Multiple entry costs $25 more than single and removes the whole question, including for a side trip to Cambodia or Laos and back.
Not sure what you are holding, or want the next one handled?
See Visa Service →I only used 20 of my 90 days. Are the rest still mine?
Not on a single entry visa — leaving ends it. On a multiple entry visa you can return, but only until the expiry date on the visa, which does not extend to cover unused days.
Can I extend it instead?
No. E-visas cannot be extended at all. When it expires you leave the country or convert to a different visa category.
Should I apply early for my next trip?
Not too early. The clock starts at issue, so applying months ahead quietly shortens your stay. Standard processing is three to five working days.
