Which Terminal at Noi Bai Airport for International Flights?
International flights at Noi Bai (HAN) use Terminal 2 (T2). Terminal 1 (T1) is for domestic flights only.
Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi has two terminals, and mixing them up is one of the most common mistakes travelers make. If you’re flying internationally — arriving from or departing to another country — you want Terminal 2. Terminal 1 handles all domestic routes within Vietnam.
Why This Matters
T1 and T2 are separate buildings connected by a short walkway and shuttle bus (free, running every few minutes). If you land at the wrong terminal, you can still get to the right one, but it eats into your buffer time — especially risky if you have a tight domestic connection right after landing internationally.
Connecting Between Terminals
- Free shuttle bus runs between T1 and T2, roughly every 10–15 minutes
- Walking between terminals takes about 10–15 minutes if the shuttle isn’t handy
- If connecting from an international to a domestic flight, budget at least 90 minutes total for immigration, baggage, and the terminal transfer
