⚡ Entry Quick Tip
Do You Need a QR Code to Enter Vietnam? (Pre-Arrival Form — 2026)
⚡ Quick Answer
Yes. Every passenger not travelling on a Vietnamese passport must complete a free pre-arrival declaration at prearrival.immigration.gov.vn and show the QR code to immigration on arrival. It takes about 5–10 minutes and is mandatory at all of Vietnam’s main international airports — SGN, HAN, DAD, PQC and CXR.
Vietnam’s new pre-arrival information declaration requires all foreign passport holders to submit personal, visa, and flight information online before or upon arriving. Think of it as a digital replacement for the paper arrival card — but done in advance.
Which Airports Require It?
| Airport | Code | Mandatory From |
|---|---|---|
| Tan Son Nhat — Ho Chi Minh City | SGN | April 15, 2026 |
| Phu Quoc International | PQC | June 1, 2026 |
| Noi Bai — Hanoi | HAN | June 8, 2026 |
| Da Nang International | DAD | June 15, 2026 |
| Cam Ranh — Nha Trang | CXR | June 2026 |
What Do I Actually Need to Do?
- Go to prearrival.immigration.gov.vn (free, official)
- Fill in passport details, visa info, flight number, and hotel address
- Submit — takes about 5–10 minutes
- Screenshot or save the QR code you receive
- Show it to the immigration officer when you land
✅ Do it the night before your flight — saves time, avoids airport stress, and lets you double-check your details before boarding.
⚠️ Not a visa replacement — If your nationality requires a Vietnam e-visa, you still need to get one separately at evisa.gov.vn. The pre-arrival form is an additional step for everyone.
